Water Brake Style Engine Dynamometers
Taylor's water brake dynamometer is the most important engine diagnostic tool available, allowing you to quickly troubleshoot problems such as low horsepower, insufficient torque, and leaks. Our engine dynamometers will verify that the repair is completed, that the engine is operating according to specifications and can be used to break-in engines before installation.
Taylor also offers tandem dynamometer systems in which two dynamometers are coupled together. Tandem systems are available in a variety of combinations up to a maximum of 7000 hp. Please contact our sales staff for more information.
| M2 | The M2 model engine dynamometer has a capacity of 50 hp at a maximum of 6000 rpm. |
| DH | Taylor's DH Series includes 3 different models with capacities ranging from 270 hp to 805 hp. The DH series can operate at speeds up to 4500 rpm. |
| DX | Our DX series includes 12 different models, all of which enjoy the same construction design. Horsepower absorption capacity is measured across the product line by adding stators and rotors. Taylor's DX dynamometers can be operated in both direction of rotation. The DX series accommodates horsepower ranges from as little as 50 hp to as much as 3000 hp and can operate at up to 4500 rpm. Taylor currently has over 2000 DX dynamometers operating around the world. You'll find a DX dynamometer on every continent, in more than 60 countries. Many of these units have been in operation for over 30 years. |
| DS | Taylor's DS engine dynamometer series includes three different models with capacities ranging from 3500 hp up to 4250 hp. Like the DX series, the capacity is determined by the number of rotors and stators. The DS series is similar in design to the DX series with the increased capacity achieved primarily with larger diameter components. The DS dynamometers operate in both directions of rotation at RPMs up to 2800. |
| DL 9000 | The DL 9000 model engine dynamometer has a capacity of 8,985 hp and operates in a single direction of rotation to a maximum of 2,500 rpm. The DL 9000 is designed to test very large engines. |
