Torsional Coupling and Custom Torsional Vibration Dampeners

Torsional Coupling and Custom Torsional Vibration Dampeners

The Taylor Dynamometer Torsionally Resilient Coupling is a dynamometer mounted coupling designed for use on our DX series of Engine Dynamometers. The Torsional Coupling is intended to isolate the inertia of a larger engine dynamometer from the high-amplitude torsional vibration of some smaller diesel engines with lightweight flywheels. The Torsionally Resilient Coupling extends drivetrain life by diminishing or dampening vibration amplitudes over the operating speed range common to diesel engines.

Flywheel Adapter Kit - 1550 Style

Flywheel Adapter Kit - 1550 Style

The flywheel adapter plate bolts to the flywheel of the engine. The flywheel adapter plate is available with a rough-cut diameter, from 12" to 30" and is pre-formed and machined to mate with a hub. Final machining of the outside diameter and drilling of the attaching holes to fit the clutch cover bolt holes in the flywheel must be performed by the purchaser to ensure correct fit. A single flywheel adapter plate can be drilled with various flywheel patterns, thus avoiding the necessity of stocking a different plate for each model of engine to be tested.

Cable terminations/connections to the vehicle/engine harness are the customer's responsibility.

TD-3100 In-Frame Mounting Kit

TD-3100 In-Frame Mounting Kit

The Taylor Dynamometer "TD-3100 In-frame Mounting Kit" is an accessory for the TD-3100, Portable Engine Dynamometer. Designed primarily for testing engines installed in on-highway vehicles, the In-frame Mounting Kit provides the hardware necessary to install the TD-3100 between the frame rails of the vehicle. This is accomplished by simply removing the SAE flywheel housing adapter, flange drive coupling and hub coupling from the TD-3100 dynamometer and attaching the TD-3100 to the In-frame Mounting Kit. The customer will need to supply a driveshaft suitable for the installation.

Small Cooling Column

Small Cooling Column
For applications up to 1250 HP, the Taylor Gas-Leak Detecting Pressurized Small Cooling Column is an inexpensive, reliable, and easy to use engine jacket water cooler. It requires no electrical power or compressed air, only a source of cold water and a floor drain The cooling column regulates the temperature and coolant pressure of the engine that is being tested.

Large Cooling Column

Large Cooling Column

For applications over 1250 HP, Taylor Dynamometer’s large pressurized cooling columns regulate the temperature and coolant pressure of the engines being tested. Analog gauges allow you to monitor temperature and pressure levels during testing.

Low Temperature Aftercooler

Low Temperature Aftercooler

The Taylor Dynamometer Low Temperature Aftercooler (LTA) is designed to regulate the secondary water circuit temperature on engines that utilize an onboard liquid to liquid heat exchanger (other than jacket water) to cool Charge Air. Analog gauges allow you to monitor temperature and pressure levels during testing.

Hose Interconnect Kit

Hose Interconnect Kit

The hose interconnect kits are specially designed for quick connect and disconnect between the engines and Taylor’s Cooling Column and/or Taylor’s Low Temperature Aftercooler. The hoses are secured to the engine cooling water inlet and outlets with the supplied hose quick disconnect couplings. The quick disconnect ends are then attached to the Cooling Column’s or Low Temperature Aftercooler’s inlet and outlet hoses.
