The Opacity meter's simple design and portability make it easy to obtain accurate measurements. It provides an accurate means (± 1%) of detecting and measuring the opacity of smoke emitted by a diesel engine. The use of an Opacity (Smoke) meter promotes combustion efficiency for fuel economy and ensures compliance with diesel emission standards set by environmental air quality standards. The complete system consists of a control unit, sensor head assembly, extension pole, various connecting cables, calibration filter, instruction manual and a carrying case.

As a convenience to our customers we offer standard Correction Factor calculation packages for our DynPro Data Acquisition and Control System. These packages include correction factors for parameters such as Fuel Density, Barometric Pressure, Inlet Air temperature and Fuel Temperature that are to the standard identified. DynPro also provides a very user friendly utility for the creation of custom calculated channels that makes the creation of new or custom corrections very easy. This capability can eliminate the need for most post processing requirements.

DynPro Pressure and Temperature Packages

DynPro Pressure and Temperature Packages

The DynPro Pressure and Temperature Package may be mounted on the wall, boom, or a pedestal. It interfaces to DynPro and all of the optional accessories that we have available for use with the DynPro Data Acquisition and Control System. The DynPro Pressure and Temperature Package is used as the primary hardware enclosure and point of connection to the engine and test cell. There are five (5) standard pressure and temperature options to choose from with custom configuration available upon request.

DynPro communicates with electronic engines using either the J1708 or J1939 bus protocols. This feature is included for chassis dynamometers and is optional for engine dynamometers.

Standard channel configurations can be created, saved, and retrieved with the Bus Communication System Setup. Alternatively, the operator can query the engine and will be able to view and select the channels to log, display, or print.

Mass Airflow Meter

Mass Airflow Meter

The Taylor Dynamometer Mass Air Flow Meter is designed to work with the DynPro Data Acquisition and Control System. This meter measures the amount of intake air consumed by an engine. Using the Pitot principle to measure the total and static pressure components of airflow, the pressure sensing ports sense the impact pressure of the approaching air stream allowing the transmitter to determine the volumetric flow of air.

The DynPro Share Module is a wiring interface / enclosure designed to allow one DynPro Data Acquisition & Control System to be used with two separate dynamometers. The signals to and from the two dynamometers are wired to the DynPro Share Module and depending on the switch position, will send the signals to and from the dynamometer in use to the DynPro Data Acquisition & Control System during a test.

The Taylor Dynamometer Test Cell Command Center (TC3) is designed to provide a single point of connection and control for all of your basic test cell support functions. Operators are able to command devices through the TC3 and never leave the comfort and safety of the control room. The TC3 is capable of controlling eight on/off devices and allows for the simple analog open-loop control of two devices.

Taylor Dynamometer offers a variety of Throttle Controls to choose from for both electronic and mechanically actuated requirements.  Standard product offerings include Taylor's Engine Throttle Interface for use with electronic engines and two types of throttle controls for mechanically actuated requirements.  The Pneumatic Throttle Control system is for the user with modest testing requirements and is generally not used when repeatable partial throttle position testing is desired.  For the more precise and repeatable throttle position requirements, we offer our Linear Servo Throttle Control system.

It includes the inputs necessary for correcting data to standard atmospheric conditions.
